Ergonomics

This research aims to develop an environment of support and collaboration to facilitate the design process and focus on exchange between the different stakeholders. The project involved active participation in this development by experimenting the integration of tools such as rapid prototyping (RP) and investigating the relevance of the link with ergonomic assessment.

Projet de Maîtrise

Edgar Perez, M.Sc.A., Université de Montréal

A research group of ergonomists from the University du Québec à Montreal (UQAM) developed a training program for knife sharpening. Initially, we developed the prototype of a guide adapted to a knife sharpening machine. This guide is used to facilitate learning the proper techniques of sharpening. Having a sharp knife allows a butcher to work safely and avoid musculoskeletal problems.
